Lot 3 Vintage Valentine's Day Cards Hearts Girl Boy Auto Car Love – 1 Card is 1925 Whitney
This is a collection of three (3) vintage Valentines that a dear friend gave us from her long-held collection.
The cards include:
1)
A vintage 1925 Whitney Valentine Card with a young blonde girl with a bright red broad-rimmed hat and darling dress on the front of the Valentine.
Red and gold hearts also cover the front of the Valentine.
The card is imprinted with the wording:
"TO MY VALENTINE"
There is writing in pencil on the inside upper right (“T 1-”) and on the backside that says:
“1925” and “To Delight
From Cella”
The inside of the card includes a black and white illustration of a girl with a hat and a polka dot dress pushing a baby buggy.
The inside of the Valentine says, “Though your feet may travel far, Yet my heart is where you are; And since I like you fine, Won’t you be my Valentine?”
There is a handwritten date of 1925 on the back side
The trademark “Whitney Made Worchester Mass. Made in the U.S.A.” is stamped on the back of the Valentine.
The edges of the Valentine have scalloped, decorative edges.

A vintage Valentine Card with no identifying manufacturer features a young blonde girl and brown haired boy wearing a sailor’s suit on the front of the Valentine with the wording:
" VALENTINE GREETINGS"
There is writing in pen on the backside that says:
“Miss Thompson” and light pencil writing in the upper right of the backside that says: “1.00
#98”

A vintage Valentine Card with a girl in a blue polka dot dress and wearing a broad-rimmed hat who is driving a green automobile on the front of the Valentine.
The auto is kicking up dust as a chicken scurries out of the way are also depicted on the front of the Valentine.
The card is imprinted with the wording:
"YOU AUTO BE MY VALENTINE" and tiny imprinted numbering in the lower right that says “6251-1”
There is cursive writing in pencil on the backside that says:
“From Terry Holt”

3-3/8 x 3-3/8 inches
CONDITION:
The Whitney Valentine Card has a vertical bend with a few marks most visible on the inside and back, and a few scattered indentations.  The front images are bright and clean with two rub marks on the brim of the little girl’s red hat as well as small rub marks along the decorative edges.  Overall, these three Valentine’s are in good condition given their age.  There is writing in pencil/pen on all three.  There are slight ink pen and a red mark on the back/inside the Whitney Valentine. Please see the many photographs in this listing that attempt to capture the details of these Valentines.
